Wild Things Sign C Nolan Wilson After Siket's Retirement
WASHINGTON, Pa. (July 27) – The Washington Wild Things have signed catcher Nolan Wilson after a roster spot opened between games when Jordan Siket retired Sunday.
Today, the Wild Things also placed LHP Dominic Puccetti on the 60-Day Injured List, retroactive to Friday, July 25 and placed OF Robert Chayka on the 7-Day Injured List, retroactive to Saturday, July 26.
Wilson just finished his collegiate career at Marshall University, where he played one season. In 2025 for The Herd, Wilson slashed .256/.330/.398 with eight doubles, a triple, five homers and 32 RBI, He scored 27 times and threw out 18 would-be base stealers. He spent the previous four years at Nevada.
As a freshman at Nevada in 2021, he appeared in two games and was 1-for-2 at the plate. He redshirted the 2022 season before slashing .288/.342/.459 with 17 doubles, three triples, four home runs and 29 RBI in 49 games in 2023. The next season he hit .323/.359/.547 with 20 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 50 RBI, a collegiate career high.
Wilson also played in three different summer collegiate leagues, most recently in 2024 for Holly Springs in the Coastal Plain League, where he slashed .337/.408/.480 in 28 games. He drove in 19 and had seven extra-base hits in that summer.
He’ll be active tomorrow for the Wild Things as the team opens a three-game set with the New Jersey Jackals at 7:05 p.m.
