WASHINGTON, Pa. (June 23) – As part of a series of moves made Monday with more additions on the way this week, the Wild Things signed RHP Christian Diaz, who pitched last summer in the MLB Draft League for the Frederick Keys.

Diaz was 2-0 with a 1.91 ERA in the Draft League last summer with the Keys in 18 appearances. In 28.1 innings, he had a save and finished eight games. There, he appeared in 14 games and amassed 17.1 innings of work, where he walked seven and struck out 15.

The righty totaled 52 innings in two seasons Centenary. His best season in college came for the Gents in 2023, where he pitched 19.1 innings and allowed five runs (two earned) on 16 hits with five walks and 13 strikeouts. That work was good for a 0.93 ERA.

Diaz will be active tomorrow night for the series opener against Lake Erie at EQT Park, which is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. In other moves submitted to the Frontier League Monday, catcher Willie Estrada was traded to the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (ATLL) for future considerations, catcher Jommer Hernandez and LHP Jake Carroll were released and RHP Jacob McCaskey was placed on the 7-Day Injured List, retroactive to Saturday, June 21.
