John Merklin enters his first season as the Head Clubhouse Manager of the Washington Wild Things in 2026. He joined the team in late February of 2026 to take on the role. He was an Assistant Clubhouse Manager with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws in 2025, where he handled laundry, managed inventory, did general clubhouse maintenance, meals, attended to umpires and attended to home and visiting players. He's also been a manager at Sportika, worked at Dick's Sporting Goods and at ShopRite. John graduated from Brick Memorial High School in 2020 and matriculated to Stockton University, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. Some of his hobbies including fishing, hiking, snowboarding, attending sports games and collecting cards. His favorite TV show is Malcolm in the Middle, while his favorite movie is Wolf of Wall Street and his favorite band is the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. He's also a big fan of the New York Yankees, New Jersey Devils and New York Giants.
