Wild Things Acquire RHP Michael O'Hanlon to Complete Trade, Sign Him

WASHINGTON, Pa. (June 6) – The Washington Wild Things have signed RHP Michael O’Hanlon after acquiring him from the Ottawa Titans to complete a trade from early April that sent LHP Dominic Puccetti to the Titans for a player to be named. O’Hanlon had pitched in seven games for Ottawa this season and brings a 1-0 record and 3.00 ERA to the Wild Things to continue the start of his pro career.

In seven outings from the bullpen for the Titans, O’Hanlon was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA with a game finished in nine innings. He scattered nine hits, two of which were homers, and three earned runs with three walks and 10 strikeouts. He missed the 2025 season after undergoing shoulder surgery after his collegiate career wrapped up at Hofstra.

With Hofstra in four seasons, O’Hanlon, a Queens, New York native, posted a career 5.05 ERA and 12-7 record with 12 saves in 63 appearances, 17 of which were starts. Of those 17 starts, 15 came for all of his work in 2024. He was 7-4 with a 5.85 ERA in 92.1 innings. That season he allowed only 26 walks and struck out 81. His 2023 was very good with the Pride. That season he posted a 3.62 ERA in 27.1 innings with 19 appearances from the bullpen. He had six saves and struck out 38.

The righty pitched a summer in the NECL and one in the HCBL during his time at Hofstra. Prior to college, he lettered in baseball and track and field at Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, New York. He was a member of the 2018 CHSAA Varsity “AA” Intersectional Baseball Championship team and named 2019 Reliever of the Year, as he led the CHSAA in saves and ranked sixth in ERA.

O’Hanlon was activated today by the Wild Things and is available for the middle game against the Florence Y’alls, Saturday at EQT Park with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

The 24th season of Wild Things baseball in the MLB-partnered Frontier League is underway with more great baseball and entertainment to come.
