Wild Things Expand Role of Benny Canan as Director of Fan Engagement
WASHINGTON, Pa. (November 5) – The Washington Wild Things have expanded the role of a familiar face at EQT Park with Benny Canan being named the organization’s Director of Fan Engagement. He will help lead efforts to enhance the fan experience both on and off the field.
Benny has been part of the Wild Things organization since 2022, first serving as the team’s Public Address Announcer before transitioning to the role of on-field emcee. From leading between-inning games to interacting with fans throughout the ballpark, Benny has become a familiar part of the game-day experience in Washington.
In his enlarged role, Benny will help lead the development of the team’s promotional calendar, theme nights, in-game entertainment and fan-engagement initiatives. He will also work alongside the organization’s corporate partners to develop creative promotions and unique experiences that bring fans closer to the action. On gamedays, Benny will still be running around the concourse in crazy costumes and bringing fans into the fun as the Wild Things’ on-field emcee.
"One of the best parts of being with the Wild Things these past few years has been getting to know so many of our fans and families," said Canan. "I've loved being able to share in their experiences and help create moments that make a night at the ballpark special. I'm excited for the opportunity to build on those relationships, bring even more energy and creativity to the ballpark, and make every fan feel like they're part of the game."
