Wild Things Sign LHP Brit Kostura to Active Roster
WASHINGTON, Pa. (June 19) – The Wild Things have made an addition to their roster prior to the start of the weekend’s three-game series in Avon, Ohio against the Lake Erie Crushers. The club has signed left-handed pitcher Brit Kostura, a Florida native, who played at Baldwin Wallace University.
Kostura was a First-Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) selection this season, a D3baseball Second-Team All-American, ABCA/Rawlings All-First Team and a D3baseballl All-Region VII Second Team pick this season, one that saw him lead the team and place third in the OAC with a 2.08 earned run average. In 18 games, 15 of which were starts, Kostura logged 108.1 innings and was 10-3 with three complete games and a shutout. He allowed 89 hits and whiffed 79 with 19 walks allowed.
Over his college career, he was 15-4 with a 2.39 ERA in 40 games (25 starts) for the Yellow Jackets. In 192.1 career collegiate innings, he allowed 144 hits, 46 walks and 51 earned runs to go with 153 strikeouts and a career .209 batting average against.
The Yellow Jackets made the Division III Baseball Championships this year and in those, Kostura logged two complete games. In 2025, he was awarded several honors including All-American status, All-Region and All-OAC honors. He pitched the fifth no-hitter in program history against John Carroll on May 2. The same season he was Kent Tekulve OAC Pitcher of the Year, an award named after the ex-Pirates closer and former Director of Baseball Operations of the Wild Things.
He played four seasons at Jupiter Christian School in Florida during his high-school days.
Kostura wll be active and available tonight for Washington as the Wild Things open a three-game set with Lake Erie at 7 p.m. Kobe Foster is slated to take the ball coming off back-to-back shutouts, including the fourth no-hitter in franchise history last Friday.
