Wild Things Swept in Doubleheader (Game One Recap)

WASHINGTON, Pa. (June 14) - Ottawa started the first game of the doubleheader hot as the Titans scored in the first on an RBI double by Jackie Urbaez and continued that energy throughout the game. Ottawa got an additional three more after the top of the second inning highlighted by a two-run homer by AJ Wright.

In the bottom of the second, Andrew Czech sparked the Wild Things for a moment with his seventh home run of the season, getting Washington on the board and making it 4-1. That, however, was all Washington would get until a Scotty Dubrule sacrifice fly in the seventh before the game’s conclusion.

Wright hit his second two-run shot in the top of the fourth, pushing the lead to five runs for Ottawa. That lead grew when Sicnarf Loopstok brought the score to 9-1 with a three-run shot in the sixth.

Tommy Caufield made his Wild Things and pro debut tonight. He not only got his first professional hit, but first run scored as he was plated on the aforementioned sac fly.
