Washington Takes Middle Game, Wins Fifth Straight

WASHINGTON, PA (July 20) – The Wild Things beat the New York Boulders in the second game of the series tonight by a score of 10-4 to win their fifth-consecutive game.

The Wild Things would get on the board early in the second inning. Bralin Jackson hit a solo home run giving Washington an early lead.

The Boulders would get that run back eventually in the top of the fourth inning. Gian Martellini singled in Ray Hernandez to tie the game at one apiece.

The tie wouldn’t last long though. Trevor Casanova stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning with two men on and in scoring position. Casanova crushed a home run to right field bringing in Bralin Jackson and Hector Roa to give the Wild Things a 4-1 lead.

The Wild Things would continue to pile on runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. In the bottom of the fifth, Grant Heyman hit a two-run home run over the fence giving the Wild Things an even bigger lead. Hector Roa would add to that lead as he would single in Bralin Jackson in that same inning.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Brian Sharp hit a sacrifice fly to bring in another run scoring Cam Phelts. Grant Heyman would also make his presence known in this inning by tripling in Nick Ward to bring the lead to 9-1 for the Wild Things.

In the seventh, New York would get on the board again as Tucker Nathans hit a two-run home run to bring the lead to 9-3.

The Wild Things would add on another run in the eighth inning curtesy of a Brian Sharp solo home run.
