Wild Things Release 2017 Baseball Schedule

Washington, PA – October 3, 2016 The Washington Wild Things proudly announce that the schedule for their 16th season of Frontier League Baseball has been released.  The 2017 home season will begin on May 19th when the Wild Things host Chicago’s Windy City Thunderbolts.  During the 96-game schedule the team will have 48 home games, including nine weekend series and five Wednesday double headers.

New for 2017 will be Throw Back Thursday, a promotion that will allow the team and fans to look back at the team’s 15 year history.  The team will wear replica uniforms for the inaugural season in 2002.  At the end of the season, those jerseys will be auctioned off for charity.   In addition the Wild Things will offer the Silver Slugger’s Club for fans over the age of 50.  Members will receive discounts on tickets and additional benefits.

Fans will also see the return of Military Night, Scout Night, and Faith Night. In addition the popular Winner’s Day program continues.  This program, which focuses on healthy living choices, ties into the DARE program at most schools.  The kids speak with Wild Things’ players who encourage them to take care of their bodies by avoiding tobacco products, drugs, and alcohol.

The Wild Things’ organization will spend a great deal of time in local elementary school classrooms with the Reading program as well.  The team works with area educators who set goals for their reading classes.  The motivation around the Reading Diamond is to earn a free baseball ticket to the Wild Things’ game.  Both programs have continued to grow over the years.

Some of the popular promotions that will return for the 2017 season include Thirsty Thursday, Fireworks Friday, Giveaway Saturday, and Kid’s Day Sunday.

The Wild Things are currently accepting deposits on season ticket packages and group packages.  Charitable giving remains a high priority for the Wild Things with many special evenings in the final stage of planning.  Inquiries regarding pricing and other information are welcome and should be directed to Brian at 724. 250.7412 or Austin at 724.250.9551. Be sure to check the website (www.washingtonwildthings.com ) for details about the promotional schedule which should be issued soon, and to follow the team on Twitter and Facebook.
