Wild Things Defeat Thunderbolts in Season Opener

WASHINGTON, PA - The Washington Wild Things (1-0) opened their season on the road at Standard Bank Stadium against the Windy City Thunderbolts (0-1) as part of a three game series. The Wild Things defeated the Thunderbolts 9-1 in the outing.

RHP Trevor Foss (1-0) earned the win for Washington. His ERA stays at .000 as the single Thunderbolt run was unearned. Through seven innings, Foss allowed only two hits and produced six strikeouts. LHP Brian O’Keefe threw two innings on the mound - allowing a solo hit and striking out two batters. Chris Chigas (0-1) earned the loss for the Thunderbolts.

The Wild Things and Thunderbolts each scored in the first and second innings - keeping the game tied 1-1 until the sixth inning. The Wild Things offensive explosion was led by catcher Kyle Pollock, as he produced three of the team’s eight hits. His four RBIs provided the Wild Things a consistent lead throughout the outing. Kane Sweeney walked and scored three times, and Bralin Jackson scored twice.
