Popkins Returns to Washington Wild Things for 2016

Outfielder David Popkins returns to Washington after finishing fourth in homeruns in the Frontier League in 2015.  

Popkins was a standout hitter during the 2015 campaign.  He hit 20 homeruns over the course of the season to finish fourth in the league, along with 17 doubles and 4 triples.  He totaled 72 hits in 93 games.   

He also ended the 2015 campaign as the team leader in RBI and BBs. 

Popkins hails from San Diego and played collegiate baseball for the University of California, Davis. 

Before joining the Wild Things roster in 2015, he earned a position with the double-A Springfield Cardinals and appeared in 90 games.  He ended 2014 with Springfield with 67 hits and a .243 average.
