Wild Things' Rally Not Enough To Beat Boomers

Schaumburg, IL - The Washington Wild Things traveled to Schaumburg Friday to begin a three game series with the Boomers. The Wild Things fell to the Boomers by a final score of 6-4. Starting pitcher Matt Fraudin struck out six in five innings pitched. Scott Schultz earned the victory.

The Boomers got out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the bottom of the 1st. Singles from Jordan Dean and Kenny Towns set up a bock and error, giving the Boomers a 3-0 lead. Schaumburg extended the lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the 4th courtesy of a Kenny Towns three run home run.

The Wild Things answered in the top of the 5th, with a single from Andrew Heck that set up a three run shot by Nick Ferdinand making the score 6-3. A Ricky Rodriguez solo home run in the top of the 6th cut the lead once again to 6-4.

The Wild Things continue their series with the Boomers Saturday night in Schaumburg. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 EDT
