Wild Things Win Series Against Beach Bums

The Washington Wild Things (37-40) and the Traverse City Beach Bums (34-45) went head-to-head in an August 18, 2016 competition to determine who would earn the series win. Washington triumphed over the Beach Bums with a score of 2-0.

LHP Luke Wilkins (3-6) earned the win for Washington; in his seven innings on the hill Wilkins, allowed five hits and kept the Beach Bums scoreless. RHP Andrew Woeck (2-1) recorded the save for the Wild Things, and allowed only one hit in his two innings of work. Beach Bum RHP Kramer Champlin (4-6) was the losing pitcher on the outing.

Washington recorded two runs during the outing. The first came in the fourth inning when Jimmy Yezzo knocked his eleventh homerun of the season. The second run was driven in when Andrew Heck tripled in the eighth, allowing Austin Wobrock to score.

The Wild Things return home tomorrow, Friday, August 19, 2016 to begin a three game series against the Schaumburg Boomers beginning at 7:05 p.m. EST. The Friday night competition will include Fireworks Friday and Military Appreciation Night.
