Wild Things Drop Series To Thunderbolts

The Washington Wild Things (45-47) and the Windy City Thunderbolts (41-51) played the finale of a three game set at Standard Bank Stadium on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Washington fell to the Thunderbolts with a score of 2-1.

LHP Brandon Bixler (1-2) was the losing pitcher for Washington; during Bixler’s 6.1 innings on the mound, he allowed five hits and produced two strikeouts. RHP Clay Chapman (9-7) earned the win for Windy City, and RHP Brian Loconsole (1-3) recorded the save.

Windy City tallied its two runs during the sixth and seventh innings when Ransom LaLonde and Coco Johnson recorded RBIs. Wild Thing David Popkins blasted his 15 home run of the season; Grant Fink produced a hit during the outing.

The Wild Things will continue their road trip tomorrow, Friday, September 2, 2016 at 7:05 p.m. against the Lake Erie Crushers.
