Player Alumni Spotlight

Meet CJ Beatty

  1.  Following your playing career, you joined the St. Louis Cardinals staff in a coaching role, how was that experience?

It was amazing! First year of coaching at the professional ranks with a historic organization....PRICELESS! Learned a lot of things you would NEVER understand as a player.

2. How did playing all over the world make you a better coach?

Just understanding how to connect and relate with different types of people. In order to be a great coach you must CONNECT before you CORRECT.

3. Tell us more about being The Baseball Motivator, what are your goals of the program?

I’m known internationally as The Baseball Motivator via social media. I created this brand to help bridge the mental gap from Middle School players up to Pro players. The program focuses on mental preparation, drills, routines etc.

4. What’s the one motivational nugget you feel is the most beneficial to young players?

No matter what, you must grind for it and stay consistent. If you can do that then you are that much closer to your dreams and goals

5. If you had to pick one, who is your favorite Wild Things’ teammate?

Man that’s tough! I would say Quincy Latimore. We were the "Bash Brothers".

6. What do you miss most about life in professional baseball?

The competition (working) towards a championship. Starting from spring training and grinding through a tough season brings everyone closer as friends. Also launching baseballs into orbit during BP!!!

7. Better feeling; hitting a HR or producing a motivational video?

Wow tough one! Depends on if it’s a walk off bomb or not. Right now I would say a motivational video that reaches the masses.

8 Favorite ballpark meal?

Loaded Nachos w/EXTRA cheese.

9. What was your favorite thing about being a Wild Thing?

The fans were family! I adored the fans and the amount of support they gave us.
