The Washington Wild Things are proud to announce the signings of LHP Devon Davis and OF Brandon Rawe.

Devon Davis played collegiately at the University of Montevallo and was quickly signed as a free agent by the Chicago White Sox following his 2014 campaign. Devon made his impact felt, striking out 39 batters in over 29 innings between both the Arizona and Pioneer League. In 2015, Davis transitioned between Kannapolis, Winston-Salem and Birmingham to strike out 59 batters in over 56 innings of work. The 6'3 lefthander has limited hitters to a .229 average over his 2 year professional career and a welcome addition to the Wild Things' bullpen. The Cincinnati native now currently resides in Alabama with his fiancé.

“Devon shows the capacity to limit hitters from both sides of the plate. His mindset and work ethic should translate well to the Frontier League”, said General Manager, Steve Zavacky.

Brandon Rawe, a Matthews, NC native, joins the Wild Things' roster following his first professional season with the Miami Marlins. Rawe was drafted in the 34th round following 3 standout years with Morehead State, of the Ohio Valley Conference. The rookie outfielder left Morehead State with records in hand and carrying a career .351 batting average. Over his final 2 seasons at Morehead, Rawe showcased his athleticism and tallied 45 doubles, 22 HRs and 100 runs driven in.

“Versatility and a professional approach are two things Brandon emphasizes. We look forward to providing him a platform to build off his strong college campaign and time with the Marlins”, Steve Zavacky noted.

The Wild Things will open their 15th season of Frontier League Baseball in May.  The home opener is scheduled for Friday, May 20th.  Season and Group packages are available at the CONSOL Energy Park Box Office.
